Wood Village Stow-A-Way Policies
Wood Village Stow-A-Way is committed to maintaining a secure, safe, and convenient storage and parking experience for our customers. Below are a number of our primary policies; please contact us for additional details.
Rent payments and late fees:
Our tenants rent storage unit(s) and/or space(s) on a monthly basis. Your rental period begins on the day the lease is signed and continues on the first of each month. All tenants will keep an active credit or debit card on file for rental payments.
All rent is due on the first of each month. If you are more than 10 days late in paying your rent, we will assess a late fee and may also lock your unit and suspend your access privileges until rent is paid. After 30 days of delinquency, Wood Village has the right to auction unit contents to recover unpaid rent (per Oregon law).
Wood Village may change the rental rate(s) for units and/or parking spaces following 30 days’ notice. We intend to keep rates affordable, i.e. at or below the average fair market rate for comparable units or spaces in the area. We typically conduct an annual study of storage unit pricing to determine if our rates are fair.
Move outs:
We require a 30-day notice for move-outs. If you provide 30 days’ notice or more, we will pro-rate your monthly payment if your move-out date falls after the end of the month. For example, if you have paid rent for the month and move out on the 15th after providing 30 days’ notice, we will issue you a refund for approximately half of your rent for that month.
To receive a refund, you must remove your lock and clean out all unit contents. If you fail to provide at least 30 days’ notice, we will not provide a refund on that month’s payment. You are liable for any damage to the unit or items left in the unit.
Insurance and Liability:
Wood Village is not responsible for loss or damage to tenant’s property, and does not provide insurance for stored property. We strongly recommend tenants provide their own insurance for possessions stored on the property, and are a commercial rental space – not a bailee or warehouseman. Any property stored on the premises should be solely for the benefit of authorized tenants. Tenants may not store hazardous, persihable, or illegal items on-site. High-value items (in excess of $1,000) should not be stored on the premises without express written consent by Wood Village.
Security and On-Site Conduct:
Wood Village provides secure access to tenants from 7 am to 9 pm, 7 days a week using a unique gate access code of their choosing. Our premises are monitored by video surveillance systems 24 hours a day.
In order to help ensure unauthorized people inside the facility, tenants may not allow anyone to enter the facility without an access code – whether by allowing a vehicle to enter behind them or by opening the gate for an unknown person. Tenants should report any suspicious activity or persons immediately by calling our mobile phone at 503-704-9030 or the police at 911. Tenants are responsible for any damage that occurs to their unit, other units, or other property using their access code.
Tenants may not be on the premises after hours and may not stay in vehicles or units overnight. Tenants may not consume drugs or alcohol on the premises, bring live animals, or harass or interfere with other tenants in any way – including leaving vehicles parked which obstruct other units.
We reserve the right to ask anyone violating these policies to leave the facility.
Tenants may not sublet unit space or share their access code with others, except if they are registered on the lease agreement.
Tenant notifications:
All tenants will keep current name, address, driver's license, phone number, and email on file with our office. We will notify you of any account balances, late fees, rate changes, legal notices, etc. using this contact information – so it is very important you keep it up to date.
Please see your lease agreement or request one from our office for additional policies and details.
